Weave a Wildflower

In this 3 hour workshop, you will learn the essentials of round weaving by creating Wildflower Weavings on 7-inch embroidery hoops.
Eylsia will guide you through basic round weaving techniques using a variety of colorful and textured fibers to create your fiber art piece.
You will learn these basic round weaving techniques:
~How to pick out your color palette and fibers for the middle of the wildflower
~Pick from 3-5 Roving Colors for your Petals
~Tabby Stitch
~Soumak
~Roving Bubbling
~Add Roving Petals by using either a Lark’s Head Knot or Rya Knot
~Cleaning Up Fiber Ends and Finishing
Workshop materials provided:
~7-inch Embroidery Hoop
~Embroidery Needle
~Many different colorful and textured fibers to choose from!
~Fabric Stiffener Spray for Roving Petals
~Roving brushes and combs
If you do not finish your weaving during the workshop, you will be able to take your fibers home with you to finish your creation!
This Workshop is suitable for beginner and experienced weavers, ages 10 and up.

Friends of the Arts is our donor level for all patron and arts supporters. We need 250 Friends of the Arts for our after school programs, community outreach, and gallery maintenance.

Our Patrons donor level helps provide foundational funding for our student Scholarship program and our Summer Art Camp. We need 25 Patrons.
Dreammakers - $2,500 to $5,000
The Dreammakers donor level will help launch our Music Program and provide continued support for our new Digital Arts program. $50,000 annually.
